Wild birds such as the Crested Serpent Eagle, Ryukyu Ruddy Kingfisher, and Ryukyu Scops Owl visit the garden. An ideal environment for birdwatchers.
Our facility is engaged in installing nest boxes, maintaining biotopes, and creating feeding environments, and is registered as a "Birdpia" site with the Japan Bird Research Association.
With minimal light pollution, you can enjoy an incredibly beautiful starry sky. The Milky Way is clearly visible to the naked eye.
In 2026, Iriomote-Ishigaki National Park, adjacent to our facility, was certified as an International Dark Sky Place by the international organization DarkSky.
Within walking distance are habitats of the Yaeyama Firefly, yellow-striped firefly, and Oshima window firefly, offering breathtakingly fantastic sights during the season.
The natural environment is protected by the Ministry of the Environment's Iriomote-Ishigaki National Park and Ishigaki City's nature conservation ordinances, and fireflies sometimes fly to our facility as well.
Mt. Omoto, from which our lodging takes its name, is the highest peak in Okinawa Prefecture. Within walking distance to the trailhead, it is ideal as a base for authentic mountain climbing and trekking. An outdoor water supply is also available, allowing you to wash muddy trekking shoes and gear.
During the climb, you can observe birds, insects, and plants found nowhere else.
Fully equipped with a kitchen, refrigerator, microwave, and more. The spacious wooden deck features a parasol and table, so you can enjoy a leisurely extended stay while experiencing Okinawa's nature surrounded by mountains. Occasionally, relax at the crystal-clear beaches.
The area surrounding Mt. Omoto is part of Iriomote-Ishigaki National Park, with some sections designated as "Special Zones" or "Special Protection Areas." It is located in a precious environment subject to Ishigaki City's own ordinances.
A stream with beautiful clear water flows nearby, and there are areas where even small children can play safely.
